Christian Ferry
Christian Ferry, a founding partner of The Trailblazer Group, has spent the past fifteen years building and managing political and business organizations in the United States and around the world. A well-respected strategist, Mr. Ferry helps his clients develop and execute strategic plans that effectively and efficiently utilize resources and deploy cross-functional tactics to achieve their business and political goals.
As the Deputy Campaign Manager of McCain-Palin 2008, Mr. Ferry managed all divisions of the McCain campaign through the primaries and general election. His particular focus was on the media and strategy components of the primary campaign and the political organization and voter contact strategy for the general election. He joined the campaign in January 2007 as the National eCampaign Director and was elevated to Deputy Campaign Manager in July 2007. As National eCampaign Director, Mr. Ferry built the campaign's initial online presence, managed the campaign's website, internal databases, online advertising, and new media outreach strategies.
Before joining McCain 2008, Mr. Ferry worked as a strategic consultant at Davis Manafort, Inc, developing and implementing strategies designed to achieve objectives in the areas of government relations, domestic and international business, and elective politics. Mr. Ferry represented clients before the federal government on issues including transportation and telecommunications and managed successful political and business campaigns in the United States, Eastern Europe, Central America, and South America. From 2000-2003, Mr. Ferry worked for the Union Pacific Corporation as Deputy Director for Political Affairs, managing Union Pacific's political action committee and representing the company and its subsidiaries in Washington. In addition to organizing Union Pacific employees on the grassroots level to advance the corporation's policy objectives in Washington and its operating states, Mr. Ferry worked on trade and customs issues.
Mr. Ferry worked for the McCain 2000 presidential campaign as Assistant Campaign Manager. Prior to joining Senator McCain's campaign, he worked for Governor James Gilmore of Virginia as a Special Assistant to the Secretary of Natural Resources, where he focused on issues regarding game and wildlife management, environmental regulation and conservation. Governor Gilmore appointed Mr. Ferry to the Virginia Board of Conservation and Recreation in 2000.
In 1997, Mr. Ferry managed his first political field organization, serving as the Northwestern Field Director for the Gilmore for Governor campaign. Mr. Ferry began his career working on the Bob Dole for President campaign and the 1996 Republican National Convention.
Mr. Ferry also serves as the Executive Director of the Republican Diplomatic Partnership, a nonprofit organization that fosters relationships between American policy leaders and government officials, the private sector, and the diplomatic corps representing countries from around the world in Washington
Mr. Ferry is a frequent political commentator and analyst to outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Associated Press, Reuters and Politico.
A native Virginian, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Virginia, where he majored in government and history. Mr. Ferry and his wife, Holly, reside in Alexandria, Virginia with their daughter, Spencer, and two sons, Walker and Ford.
